East Anglia’s Last Winter Regional

A big thanks to all who came to the race today, despite the cold, gusty NE wind, thankfully the sun shone and we didn’t get any of those nasty rain showers!

We clocked up 96 riders, including 7 first timers and Ady made sure they all kept warm with zillions of gate practices plus keeping the crowd entertained with his top notch commentary!!

Winter Regional Round 4 – Car Parking

After prolonged negotiations with Norwich City Council we have, today, secured on-site parking for our regional race this Sunday 15th April.

Access will be from the Park Entrance (there is only one) which is just off the Drayton Road (A1067). The nearest reasonable Post Code I can find is NR3 2AJ, which is on the Drayton Road approximately 500m from the turning to the Park entrance. Please be aware that the Drayton Road is a busy road and quite narrow at the turning to the Park.

Should you need to over shoot the turning to the Park, simply go straight on for ½ mile and you will be able to turn back at the round-about.

Please do be aware that there are many other Park users who will be more than happy to report back to the Council:

Football: There could well be a full car park and possibly cars parked all over the entrance road if there are several football matches on.

Dog walkers: Please do allow them to get their dogs under control, if required, before proceeding.

Pedestrians: Many families use the Park as there is a Play Park, so there will be folk with push chairs and young children on small bikes, scooters etc.

Cyclists: The Park is also an access point to the Norwich cycle network which many people do use.

A Marshall will be at the entrance to direct you to the event parking, please observe the 5mph speed restriction and DO USE your hazard lights at all times.

BIRMINGHAM BMX Training Session

East Anglia region have booked BIRMINGHAM Bmx track for your exclusive use prior to the national.
The session is booked for 4 hours from 12pm to 4pm on friday 6th april.
The track is fully open for you to practice during this time.
We are also offering one hour coaching sessions for riders on request within this booking.
The price for this 4 hour booking is £10 per rider (inclusive of coaching).

Payment MUST be made prior to attending.

Round 4 of the winter series is due to be held on Sunday 12th February. We will be doing a track inspection and will update this posting with our findings.

Reggie cleans up the track!

We got the ol’ barrow, shovel and brush out and off to work we went – lo and behold – several hours later a remodelled jump from out of the first berm! All thanks to Reggie – track maintenance Dog!!

Just a quick thank you to Jools from Braintree BMX club for delivering a great coaching day at the track today. It was great to see some big smiles on some of our newest and slightly more nervous members faces! It’s a shame we couldn’t have gone on all day but judging by my terrible sunburn its a good job we stopped when we did.

We hope you’ll come back for another session soon Jools, and thanks again!

Round 7 – What a great day at Norwich!

Thanks to everyone who came and helped out, raced and watched at the race yesterday. We all had a great day, and I was especially proud of the TWELVE novice racers that rode really well in their first ever race.

We raised £147 in the raffle and in return gave out some great prizes thanks to Hardcore Hobbies and Dialled Bikes.

Royston Round 6 – Race Results

We had a very successful days racing at Royson today. Congratulations go to Aiden for winning the rider of the day award along with getting a 1st in one of his motos, Jake got a well deserved 1st place overall and Morgan did well getting 3rds and a 2nd. Dave came 2nd in cruisers and was looking strong. Abi kept her consistent 1st places, with Royston rider Helen hot on her heels! Jay is now at the top of the league in masters with his win today bumping him up to first place overall, and Steve bagged second place.
